Hi, i’m betsy.
At the 2023 Tony Awards, hearing my name as a nominee was dazzling, humbling, and the culmination of years of work and love for this art form. But as thrilling as that was, what moves me more is passing on everything I’ve learned to the next generation of performers.
By then, I’d done eight Broadway shows, sung as a soloist with 60 major symphonies, premiered two films, graduated from a top theatre conservatory, recorded nine Original Cast albums, and made my Carnegie Hall debut at 20. Yet every time I step on stage, I still think of the 15-year-old Betsy who just dreamed of Broadway.
