THE COLLEGE STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

THREE OPTIONS:

1) JUNE 23-30 or 2) JULY 13-20 or 3) JULY 28-AUGUST 4

The BroadwayEvolved College Student Internship Program is a developmental and educational training program for college students seeking a career in the theatre industry. The internship provides an experiential learning opportunity that integrates classroom learning with practical application and skills development in a professional setting. There are two internships - Intensive Production Intern and Intensive Social Media Intern. All positions occur during the Summer Intensive and crossover with all major intensive responsibilities, but have distinct differences between each.


INTENSIVE PRODUCTION INTERN

(3 openings per intensive)

Internship Description:

  • Actively engage in the design of BroadwayEvolved content including participant materials, logistical paperwork, etc.

  • Assist in the management of logistics for Summer Intensive - including COVID compliance, accompaniment track organization, facilitate daily catering, masterclass coordination, manage student needs, and more.

  • Provide excellent customer service to attendees.

  • Mentor a small group of intensive students.

  • Attend staff meetings - some may be on Zoom before the intensives begin.

  • These are only some of the experiences that may be available.  Interns are encouraged to discuss their goals and objectives with us, and to explore other opportunities that would enhance their learning experience.

Educational/Experiential Opportunities:

  • Directly interact with industry professionals, co-founders, and participants.

  • Gain access to a behind-the-scenes look at BroadwayEvolved's operations, services and programs.

  • Learn how to design and manage a complex summer intensive.

  • Establish a network with fellow intern(s), industry professionals, and BroadwayEvolved's staff.

  • Observe select masterclasses and workshops with renowned industry professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing complex, large scale events.


INTENSIVE SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

(1 opening per intensive)

Internship Description:

  • Learn how to design and implement a marketing strategy leading up and through the BroadwayEvolved summer intensive.

  • Manage BroadwayEvolved social media channels - Instagram and TikTok.

  • Actively engage in the design of BroadwayEvolved social media content.

  • Assist production team with logistics during Summer Intensive.

  • Provide excellent customer service to attendees.

  • Attend staff meetings - some may be on Zoom before the intensives begin.

  • These are only some of the experiences that may be available.  Interns are encouraged to discuss their goals and objective with us, and to explore other opportunities that would enhance their learning experience.

Educational/Experiential Opportunities:

  • Experience with digital marketing and social media.

  • Experience with Instagram and TikTok.

  • Familiarity with photo editing software.


INTERNSHIP DETAILS

Internship Dates:

  • The internship is designed to accommodate interns’ academic commitments.

  • The internship starts on the following for each intensive:

    • 1) JUNE 23-30 or

    • 2) JULY 13-20 or

    • 3) JULY 28-AUGUST 4

    • The Intern is required to be in the NYC area during the time of the assigned intensive.

  • The Intern must be available between 9:00am - 10:00pm during the days of the 4 day intensive.

  • The Intern will be required to attend 1-2 staff meetings throughout May and June. Time will be scheduled as agreed upon by the group.

Required Qualifications:

  • Intern must be based in New York City or the surrounding area for the assigned intensive.

  • Attendance at an institution of learning with courses leading to a degree, certificate, or diploma.

  • Interest in pursuing a career in the theatre industry.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.

  • Autonomous and self-motivated, while also being able to work collaboratively in a collegial setting.

No Compensation or Benefits: The internship provides interns with a hands-on educational experience in preparation for theatre industry related positions (i.e. PR, Marketing, Stage Management, Arts Administration) and may be used for college credit requirements. The internship is unpaid, but interns will be provided with a $150 stipend to be used for food and/or travel to be paid at the conclusion of the internship. There are no other forms of benefits. The internship is limited to the time-period above and there is no entitlement to a paid position with BroadwayEvolved following completion of the internship.
